‘Developer Roundtable’ event at Silvermere Golf & Leisure, Cobham, Surrey
Adding value and managing risk with property tax reliefs in property development.
E³ Consulting hosted a Developer Roundtable event at Silvermere Golf & Leisure, Cobham, Surrey, focussing on the areas where value can be added and risk avoided during a construction project lifespan.
We focussed on opportunities for developers relating to their Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) liabilities, cleaning up contaminated or long-term derelict sites, through Land Remediation Tax Relief (LRTR) and saving VAT on property.
We also invited two further contributors to the event, Warren McMurray of C7 Architects and Matt Smith of D&M Planning – both of whom we have worked closely with on a number of projects, who provided further insight from the marketplace on key current areas of value and risk - including some aspects of Planning Reforms and Principal Designer, further to the Building Safety Act, amongst others.
E³ Consulting's speakers and contributors were:
Alun Oliver, Managing Director, E³ Consulting
Jane Deeks, VAT Specialist, E³ Consulting
Warren McMurray, Architect, C7 Architects
Matt Smith, Associate, D&M Planning
Our Roundtable events are under ‘Chatham House Rules’ with no recording and designed to promote the sessions to be as interactive as possible for sharing ideas, asking questions from real-life examples, and promoting conversation points from the value and risk areas we put forward. We also limit numbers to provide the best possible roundtable session for those involved.
The roundtable event included teas and coffee, presentations and including case studies, and followed by lunch, with continuing discussions.
Date: Tuesday 10 June 2025
Location: Silvermere Golf & Leisure, Redhill Road, Cobham, Surrey, KT11 1EF
Arrival from 10am and departure from 2.30pm
What was covered?
Along with our contributory guests, we used our own project experience to discuss where we believe the key areas are to manage your project risks, avoid pitfalls and benefit from optimised savings; increasing the viability of development proposals and taking advice at the right time.
Who benefitted from attending?
Property developers and investors, commercial and corporate property professionals, and professionals working alongside clients such as accountants, architects, commercial property agents, funders planners, project managers, tax advisors, solicitors and surveyors.
The roundtable event will include teas and coffee, presentations and including case studies, and followed by lunch, with continuing discussions.
The nominal charge is to contribute to the cost of administration and required to secure a place. We also ask that no more than two persons from the same company apply, to give others the chance to attend and we also endeavour to have a well-balanced mix between developers & investors & professional advisors.
