Legal & Data Research Analyst
Role
Finlay is a Legal & Data Research Analyst at E3 Consulting, and his work has primarily focused on Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) case law, alongside document reviewing and proofing articles. He also supports on data tasks related to Microsoft CRM Dynamics and attendance at some networking events throughout the Southwest. Finlay is a natural reflector, drawing upon the works of Kolb and Gibbs, to inform his professional development; he looks to understand the factors underpinning his own performance and in relation to the wider context of his work; helping to contribute further to the collaborative culture at E³ Consulting.
Experience
Aspiring to qualify as a solicitor, Finlay has undertaken experience over several legal settings. He has spent time undertaking work experience with a leading southwest firm. Further, he serves as a brand ambassador for a London based American law firm, hosting events at the University of Exeter and promoting opportunities to the student cohort.
Finlay is a strong advocate for volunteering and giving back. Over the past year, Finlay has been a volunteer adviser with North Warwickshire Citizens Advice and also treasurer for the University of Exeter Tennis Club, overseeing the financial operation of a club of over 1,000 members.
Career and qualifications
Finlay completed his GCSEs and A-Levels at a school in Warwickshire, achieving AAA at A-Level. He currently reads law at the University of Exeter and is in his second year, combining his studies with this part-time role with E³ Consulting.
Personal
Finlay is an avid tennis player, having played for nearly 16 years and follows the professional circuit, particularly Wimbledon. He also has a passion for clay pigeon and air rifle shooting. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to vinyl records; podcasts (with a favourite being by Matthew McConaughey), baking and travel.
